Disinfect & Clean Your Nomad

The step-by-step process to provide a clean AV system

Cleaning the Nomad Furniture

Nomad recommends Mutli-Surface Windex (the yellow liquid) as an approved disinfectant that is safe for use on Nomad furniture. Spray onto a microfiber cloth and wipe over the laminate furniture. Please don not spray directly onto furniture.

Disinfecting Monitors and Control Panels

Use 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (mixed with 30% distilled water) to sanitize monitors and control panels.
Whether you have a touch screen or a regular monitor the same cleaning methods apply.

Instructions are as follows:

  1. Power down the display/touch panel and disconnect power. (Unplugging the Nomad System will accomplish this.)
  2. Use a non-linting microfiber cloth and a 70/30 Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)/distilled water mixture. (DO NOT use a bleach- or chlorine-based solution of any kind.)
  3. Dampen the microfiber cloth with IPA solution, but do not oversaturate.
  4. Wipe down the touch screen and housing with dampened cloth. Do not allow moisture/liquid to pool on the unit or enter any openings.
  5. Let the display/touch panel dry completely at room temperature before reconnecting power.
  6. If water marks appear after drying, use a dry, non-linting microfiber cloth to wipe clean.

Disinfecting Keyboard and Mouse

In most cases, cleaning your keyboard and mouse can be done with a Clorox wipe or a wipe that has 70% Isopropyl Alcohol.
Instructions are as follows:

  1. Power down the Nomad and disconnect power. (Unplugging the Nomad System will accomplish this.)
  2. Wipe keyboard and mouse with a Clorox wipe or one containing 70% Isopropyl alcohol. (DO NOT use a bleach- or chlorine-based solution of any kind.)
  3. Do not allow moisture/liquid to pool on the unit or enter any openings.
  4. Let the display/touch panel dry completely at room temperature before reconnecting power.
  5. If water marks appear after drying, use a dry, non-linting microfiber cloth to wipe clean.

For medical-grade keyboards and mouse, instructions are as follows:

  1. We recommend you power down the Nomad and disconnect power. (Unplugging the Nomad System will accomplish this.) However, this step is optional if you can lock your keyboard by pressing the left and right “Control” (Ctrl) buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.
  2. Wipe keyboard and mouse with a Clorox wipe or you may use a spray containing 70% Isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Use 5 seconds of friction to clean and wipe the keyboard and mouse. (DO NOT use a bleach- or chlorine-based solution of any kind.)
  3. Do not allow moisture/liquid to pool on the unit or enter any openings.
  4. Let the display/touch panel dry completely at room temperature, or wipe with a microfiber cloth, before reconnecting power.
  5. If water marks appear after drying, use a dry, non-linting microfiber cloth to wipe clean.
  6. After cleaning, if you locked the keyboard, press both Control keys for 3 seconds to unlock the keyboard.
