    Nomad LT

    Classroom AV Solution

This standalone, all-in-one classroom AV solution centrally stores and seamlessly controls all of the built-in technology instructors need to support all types of teaching materials needed during lectures.

The classroom AV system houses equipment such as a DVD or blu-ray player, document camera, sound system, built-in PC/Mac, wired & wireless connections for instructor’s personal devices and more.

These classroom audio visual systems are simple turn-key solutions for creating a high-tech setting in your classrooms.

    Fully Retractable/Compact

Efficient use of space in the proprietary design of the furniture provides a small footprint. The drawers on each side of the system and the keyboard tray are fully retractable to save space when certain features are not in use.

    Face-Forward Presentations

By nature, podiums promote face-forward presentations. However, the convenient placement of a built-in confidence monitor allows instructors to also see presented images without turning around to look at the big screen.

    Ergonomic Layout

The Nomad LT classroom AV solution was designed to place highly interactive devices, such as the control panel, in convenient locations so instructors can use them comfortably without bending or reaching.

    Mobile or Permanent Installations

Depending on the base style selected, the Nomad LT can sit on wheels to be shared between classrooms or adjustable feet for a permanent installation into the classroom or lecture hall.

    Interactive Technology

    Confidence Monitor

duplicates any image that is being shown on the big screen. Instructors can remain confident in what is being seen by the audience while maintaining a natural, face-forward presentation.

    Document Camera

The 21st century version of the overhead projector…without the transparencies. The doc cam gives instructors the ability to display any type of non-digitized content in real-time, such as books, newspaper articles, 3D models, etc.

    Mounted Touch Screen Controller

The touch screen controller provides instructors with a user interface that allows them to easily control the system.

    Blu-ray Player

The Blu-ray player gives instructors the ability to play previously recorded content that is stored on CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs.

    Personal Device Connections (BYOD)

Hard-wired HDMI and VGA cables give instructors the ability to present multimedia content from their personal devices such as notebook computers, tablets and smart phones.

    Apple TV

The Apple TV gives instructors the ability to wirelessly present multimedia content from Apple devices such as iPads, MacBooks, iPhones, etc.

    Bose Sound System w/ Subwoofer

The built-in Bose sound system provides deep, clear sound and, in many cases, eliminates the need for expensive audio infrastructure.

    Output Display Devices

60`` LED Large Format Monitor or 3000 Lumen Projector

A projector or large format monitor provides the big screen that allows the audience to view presented images.

Mounting hardware for selected display device

The hardware to mount the selected display device to the ceiling or wall is included with the classroom AV system.

    Supporting Technology

    Audio Distribution

Splits the audio signal to be sent to the internal stereo amplifier and to the output panel for integration with existing audio infrastructure.

    HDMI Distribution

Splits and amplifies the HDMI video signal to be sent to the confidence monitor and display device(s) while managing HDCP and EDID communication.

    Switcher/Scaler

The switcher/scaler consolidates audio and video signals in order to provide fade-thru-black switching and video scaling of all input sources to avoid resolution issues.

    Control Processor

The control processor is the brain of the control system that interprets and distributes the commands entered at the touch screen controller.

    Power Distribution

Surge-protecting power strips are used to distribute power to the 15+ devices in the system from a single external power cord.

    IP Distribution

A network hub/switch is used to distribute a single Cat 5/6 signal into multiple network connections for several devices throughout the system while managing dedicated IP addresses for each.

    Cables

75+ cables of varying length and type (HDMI, network, audio, power, etc.) are used to connect and consolidate all of the devices into one fully integrated classroom AV system.

    Cat 5/6 Transmitter/ Receiver Pair

A classroom’s cabling infrastructure is dramatically reduced as the HDMI video and RS232 control signals from the system are carried over a single Cat 5/6 cable to a projector or monitor.

    Powered Stereo Amplifier

The powered stereo amplifier amplifies the low-power audio received from input sources to drive high-quality sound through the speakers and the subwoofer.

    Control System Functionality

    Audio-follows-video Source Switching

Audio and video signals are simultaneously switched with the press of a single button.

    Volume Controls

Volume controls are present on each menu to ensure that volume up, volume down and mute controls are always quickly accessible.

    Blank Image

The image on the big screen can be quickly blanked and restored as the confidence monitor stays active in cases where the visual aid needs to be prepared before it is presented.

    Output Display Power Control

The projector or large format monitor can be turn on and off using the touch screen controller at the system.

    Device Sub-Menus

Sub-menus that allow the instructors to control the functions of an input device are displayed as soon as that device is selected as the active source. ( Available for the Document Camera, Blu-ray and Apple TV )

    Furniture Features

This proprietary classroom AV podium was specifically engineered to integrate the select hardware used in Nomad classroom AV solutions and is not sold separately.

    Slow-Close Drawer Slides

Prevent drawers from slamming shut and damaging electronic components or the furniture

    Dual-Sided Service Access

Removable panels on both sides of the system allow dual-sided access to the technology for troubleshooting and service

    Tilting Monitor Mount

The proprietary tilting mount allows the onboard confidence monitor to be positioned for proper viewing angle while holding firm enough to withstand touch pressure if the annotation option package is selected

    Ample Paper Space

Thoughtful design of the system places devices such that there is plenty of convenient workspace

    Rack Mounted Components

The classroom AV podium is designed around an 11U rack to maximize the use of space, allow convenient service access to components and make future upgrades more feasible

    Device Security

All devices are secured to the system to prevent the removal of components that can lead to theft or improper reconnection

    Doc Cam Auto On/Off

The document camera is automatically turned on and off when the drawer opens and closes to save energy and prevent heat build-up

    Hard-wired Connection Cables

Providing tethered cables, rather than ports, for connecting personal devices relieves instructors of remembering their own

    Active cooling system

Dual USB fans and open furniture design ensure that the interior of the system never exceeds 80 degrees Fahrenheit

    Provided Power Outlet

A convenient power outlet allows instructors to plug personal devices in at the system

    Furniture Options & Accessories

    Custom Color

With hundreds of wood grains, colors and patterns available, the systems are sure to match the interior design of your space

    Customized Plaque

A custom engraved wood plaque can be fixed to the podium to prominently display your organization’s logo

Top side USB Port (included with PC option)

A USB port on top of the system provides instructors a convenient connection point for thumb drives so they will be easily remembered

Keyboard/Mouse Tray (included with PC option)

A retractable Keyboard and mouse tray allows convenient access to a keyboard and mouse and hides them when not in use

    Furniture Base Options

Depending on the base style selected for the furniture, a Nomad LT can be mobile with the ability to be shared between classrooms and moved when not in use. The system can also be permanently installed into your classroom or lecture hall depending on the needs of your application.
